Project based education is a key factor in how we instruct the Engineering Curriculum.  Students are typically introduced to a problem and are asked to solve the problem by developing innovative designs to accomplish a specific task.  These problems increase in difficulty as students proceed through their high school career. During their senior year students will be required to complete a mentorship 3rd / 4th quarter, and are also required to produce a project relating to the mentorship process with the assistance of the mentoring engineer.
Here are some examples of several projects student projects.

Underwater Submersible Vehicles
Hovercrafts
Slow Rollers
Self Propelled Vehicles
Lincoln Launchers
Steam Powered Boats
½ Scale Electric Hummer
32 Panel Grid Tied Solar Array
60’ Skystream Wind Turbine
Large Two Person Hovercraft
Football Throwing Machine

If you are an inventive individual, and enjoy hands on activities you will love the Engineering program at Northview High School!!
