Friday, 2/17/12 – Assembly Schedule:  Class Olympics

Class Olympic Activities:  Don’t forget to sign up for class Olympic activities for the assembly TODAY during all lunches. 

Guidance News:  A scholarship deadline has been extended.  The Sylvania Area Chamber of Commerce scholarship needs your application – now due TODAY February 17th.  Come to Guidance and ask for #21 application.  You could earn $2,000 for your effort.

Another volunteer opportunity with Quilts of Compassion needs help next week for their “400 quilts for Joplin”.  Call Janice Grimes at 419-708-9343 and Google “Quilts of Compassion” for more information.  The event is next Tuesday, February 21st through Thursday, February 23rd noon – 8 p.m, Friday, February 24th noon – 6 p.m, Saturday, February 25th 10 – 6 p.m. and then ongoing Tuesdays noon - 4 p.m. and Thursdays 6 – 9 p.m.

Do you have plans for tomorrow? If not, you can help the Nightingales Harvest Food Pantry at St. James Church on Sylvania Ave from 9:00 – 1:00. Have fun, help out, earn volunteer hours.

February is Teen Dating Violence Awareness Month:  Did you know there are programs in your community working to end violence and promote healthy relationships for teens?  Teen PEP (Peers Educating Peers) is just one of those programs here at your school.  Talk to a Teen PEP member today to see how you can get involved.  Remember, if you or someone you know is being abused they must report abuse to a trusted adult or advisor here at the school. 

Attention Lady Kats:  There will be a Northview Volleyball meeting on Tuesday, February 21st after school in the cafeteria for anyone interested in playing next fall.

Boys and Girls Lacrosse Teams:  The Northview Boys Lacrosse team and Sylvania Girls Lacrosse team will be having an informational meeting on Thursday, February 23rd at the Sylvania Senior Center.  Girls will meet at 5:30 p.m., boys at 6:30 p.m. Any Northview boy or girl that is interested in playing lacrosse this spring should attend this meeting with their parents.

STAMP:  If you did not pick up your STAMP book yesterday be sure to pick it up in the main office today.  Training is next week. 

YEARBOOK:  Any student who applied for the Yearbook or newspaper staff MUST have an interview. You NEED to see Ms. Huey TODAY to sign up for one.
