Attention Athletes:  The Northview Track and Field team is looking for athletes.  Are you fast, strong, can you jump?  We need YOU.  There will be a mandatory meeting this Friday after school in Mr. Ingle’s room for Men’s Track and Field.  See you there!

Guidance News:  There is a volunteer opportunity for face painting at the Wildwood Spring Carnival at the Ward Pavilion on Saturday March 31st from 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.  If interested, call Mr. & Mrs. Kellermeier at 419-536-7032 or 419-460-8799 by February 29th. 

Freshman Baseball Tryouts are on Monday, February 27th at 7 p.m. in the gym.

Boys and Girls Lacrosse Teams:  The Northview Boys Lacrosse team and Sylvania Girls Lacrosse team will be having an informational meeting on Thursday, February 23rd at the Sylvania Senior Center.  Girls will meet at 5:30 p.m., boys at 6:30 p.m. Any Northview boy or girl that is interested in playing lacrosse this spring should attend this meeting with their parents.

Lunch Book Groups:  If you are participating in our lunch book groups, remember we will be meeting during periods 5, 6 and 7 on Monday, February 27.  Bring your lunch to the library media center during your lunch time so we can talk books!!!!

Northview Athlete of the Week Boys Basketball Senior captain James Racicot was an integral part of the last two league victories for the Boys Basketball team. His presence in the middle helped disrupt the opponent’s offenses and his ability to produce at the offensive end of the floor lead to points for the Wildcats. In the win against Maumee, James had 19 points to go along with 8 Rebounds and 5 Assists.  In the victory over Perrysburg, the first since 2001, James had a well rounded game - scoring 8 points, 8 rebounds, 3 assists, 3 steals, and 3 blocked shots.  Congratulations James and Good Luck in the State Tournament!

Northview High School Musician of the Weekis Senior Bridget Thomas.   Bridget plays cello in the Chamber Orchestra, and has been a member of the Pit Orchestra in NV musicals for the past 3 years.  She has also played in the Toledo youth Orchestra and participated in OMEA Solo and Ensemble.  In addition to her musical activities, Bridget is active in National Honor Society, and is co-editor –in-chief of the student prints.  After graduation, Bridget plans to attend the Ohio State University.  A private student of Damon Coleman, Bridget is the daughter of Jerry and Renee Thomas.

Science Olympiad News:  There is no meeting this Wednesday; please sign up by the end of the day on Wednesday if you can go to Regional’s on March 3rd.  Regional’s team will be announced at Friday’s meeting. 

Attention Student Writers!  The Student Prints is publishing selected student work.  If you are interested in having your work chosen to be shown in the paper, please submit a poem or short story to Ms. Huey in E6, or give them to Maggie Figliomeni or Henry Gray.  Stories and poems must not exceed one page. 

Attention Teachers:  Did you forget?  Did it slip your minds?  Or are you really just scared?  Remember, the QuizCats are looking for some pay-back and challenge you to a quiz bowl death match to be held Wednesday, February 22 immediately after school in G5.  Chicken?  That’s FACULTY vs. STUDENTS: Feb. 22; G5; BE THERE!

Who is the Ultimate Game Cat?  Come play in the first annual Ultimate Game Cat Xbox Tourney on Thursday, March 1st from 5 to 10 p.m. in the cafeteria.  Prizes will be awarded to the winners!
